Intellectual Property Due Diligence
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY DUE DILIGENCE
Join Springboard and BioNova on Thursday, September 14 from 10:00 am – 11:30 am for a session on “Intellectual Property Due Diligence”. This in-person session will be of interest if you are fundraising or planning a commercial transaction, such as a merger or acquisition. We’ll explore the aspects of IP due diligence that are unique to various categories of intellectual property rights, and discuss how to prepare for an IP due diligence review.
Speaker: David Nauman, Ph.D. Partner, Patent Agent, BLG
David is a Partner and Patent Agent at Borden Ladner Gervais in the Vancouver office. David’s intellectual property practice focuses on obtaining, evaluating and advising on patent protection. He regularly works with corporate, government, and academic clients in the life sciences and manufacturing sectors.
David’s areas of expertise include:
drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the biotechnology, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, therapeutics, medical devices, chemistry, and oil and gas sectors
patentability, validity, infringement and freedom-to-operate issues
international patent strategies and portfolio management
David has a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from MIT, and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley. He has been recognized every year since 2016 in the IAM Patent 1000 - The World's Leading Patent Practitioners (Patent Prosecution).
